Underfloor Heating

There are two main types of underfloor heating systems available today:

• Hydronic systems, where heated water circulates through pipes

• Electric systems, where a heating cable generates warmth using electricity

In both systems, the heat source warms the concrete base, which then evenly distributes the heat across the floor, ensuring comfortable room temperatures.

While the overall floor construction is similar for both types, the key difference lies in the installation method:

• In hydronic systems, the pipes are embedded directly in the concrete screed

• In electric systems, the heating cables are typically placed just beneath the floor finish, such as tiles or linoleum.
